The good days included being petted and playing fetch, while the bad days included being temporarily separated from their owners or chained to a door.</div><div class="separator" style="text-align: left; clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="text-align: left; clear: both;">The study revealed that after a 3 hour nap, stressed dogs had a worse sleep. They spent more time in REM sleep (an active stage of sleep marked by increased heart rate) Additionally, the stressed-out dogs woke up earlier than their calmer counterparts.</div><div class="separator" style="text-align: left; clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="text-align: left; clear: both;">Interestingly, the study also revealed that dogs who were stressed fell asleep faster than their calmer counterparts.
